  • Patient supine on the table
  • Place cassette behind patients head supported on a 45° sponge
  • Extend neck
  • Position head so the infraorbitomeatal line (IOML) is parrallel to IR
  • Rotate and tilt the median sagittal plane 15° towards the side being examined
  • CR perpendicular to infraorbitomeatal line
  • CR centred to zygomatic arch
Erect
  • Patient is standing or sitting facing away from the upright bucky
  • Extend neck
  • Position head so the infraorbitomeatal line (IOML) is parrallel to IR
  • Rotate the median sagittal plane 15° towards the side being examined
  • Tilt the top of the head 15° away from the side being examined
  • CR perpendicular to infraorbitomeatal line
  • CR centred to zygomatic arch
