Positioning | - Removal all metal, plastic and removable objects (dentures, earrings, hair clips, glasses etc)
- Patient erect or seated
- Guide patient into OPG unit, resting chin on bite block
- Have patient stand in close with spine straight (don't aloow head and neck to stretch foward)
- Adjust chin rest until IOML is aligned parrallel with floor
- Align midsagittal plane with the vertical centre line of the chin rest
- Position bite block between patients front teeth
- Instruct patient to place lips together and position tongue on roof of mouth
- Explain to patient how the tube will rotate around them and the time it will take
