CT Image StorageThis is a featured page

The storage of CT images is known as 'archiving' and is done so that the images can be re-called and viewed at a later date. Images can be printed onto film or saved onto a CD-ROM/DVD. Raw data files are very large so are usually only stored for a limited time (a day or two) on the internal hard drive of the CT control console computer. Image data files are comparitively smaller and can be electronically stored on a number of devices including magnetic optical disks (MOD) and external hard drives.

Internal Hard Drive

Magnetic Optical Disk (MOD)
