• Pancreas
• Aorta
• Liver and biliary tract
• Gallbladder and common bile duct
• Right Renal tract
Pancreas

Assess:
• Pancreatic size
• Pancreatic echotexture / echogenicity
• Pancreatic shape
• Pancreatic duct / caliber
• Peri-pancreatic area

Standard documentation:
• Long axis views of pancreas (transverse epigastrium)
• Oblique views to show tail of pancreas
• Common bile duct in the head of pancreas
• Sagittal view of the pancreatic head through the SMV (ie. transverse to the pancreas)

Aorta

Assess:
• Aorta size
• Aorta wall / lumen
• Para-aortic region
• Relationship to renal arteries if AAA present

Standard documentation:
• Long axis view of abdominal aorta
• Transverse views with measurements if enlarged – measure outer wall to outer wall

Liver and Biliary Tract

Assess:
• Hepatic size
• Hepatic echotexture / echogenicity
• Hepatic contour
• Intrahepatic Biliary tree
• Hepatic vasculature
• Bile duct caliber
• Bile duct lumen
• Peri-hepatic collections / pleural space
• IVC phasicity

Standard documentation:
• Longitudinal view of lateral segment of the left lobe
• Longitudinal view of the left lobe and caudate lobe and IVC
• Longitudinal view of the porta hepatis
• Longitudinal views of the right lobe and gall bladder
• Longitudinal view of the mid right hepatic lobe
• Longitudinal view of the right lobe and right kidney
• Transverse view of the hepatic veins / IVC
• Transverse view of the portal vein

Gall bladder and Common Bile duct
Assess:
• Distension
• GB wall / thickness
• GB lumen
• GB tenderness
• Peri-cholecystic region
• Mobility of calculi when possible
Standard documentation:
• Longitudinal view of gall bladder body / fundus in oblique or supine
• Longitudinal view of gall bladder neck
• Alternate position with view of gall bladder such as LLD or erect (when possible)
• Bile duct view with intrahepatic measurement.
• Transverse view of body / neck / wall thickness
• Bile duct view with extrahepatic measurement

Kidneys
Assess:
• Renal length
• Renal contour
• Parenchymal echotexture / echogenicity
• Collecting system
• Adrenal region
• Peri-nephric area

Spleen
Assess
Splenic size
Splenic texture/echogenicity
Splenic contour
Splenic vasulature
