The CT window represents all the potential shades of grey available. Each is assigned a number that typically ranges from -1000 to +2000 with 0 representing the result of the attentuation of distilled water and -1000 equaling air. +2000 is brightest value and is the value of maximun absorption.

How does CT windowing change the dynamic range and brightness of the image?
