Renal Ultrasound
Assess:
  • Renal lengtH
  • Renal contour
  • Parenchymal echotexture / echogenicity
  • Collecting system
  • Adrenal region
  • Peri-nephric area
Standard documentation:
  • Long axis view of kidneys with measurement and measurment of cortex
  • May be sagittal or coronal for adults
  • Long axis views of medial and lateral aspects
  • Transverse views w/ measurment at mid
    • Upper pole
    • Mid - through renal hilum
    • Lower pole
  • RI renal artery
  • Pre and post void bladder with post residual measurment
